Audience: This SIG is intended for users of interchangeable lens cameras, whether DSLR or mirrorless, that allow the user to set shutter speed, aperture, and ISO manually and to shoot in RAW format. Users of point-and-shoot or phone cameras will be able to learn from this SIG as well, but the information provided will not be tailored to their needs.
Level: This will be an introductory level SIG. Attendees will be expected to know or learn the basic functions of their cameras, including how to change the main settings of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
Content: I’ll cover a number of topics and concepts intended to expand attendees’ understanding of digital photography. We will explore what happens when we change the settings on our cameras; techniques of composition; lighting setups; cropping; and other areas of interest.
Image Editing: While this SIG is not primarily concerned with image editing software, we will cover basic functions of Adobe Lightroom. Attendees may use any editing software, including Photoshop.
